FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Ten Colorado State football players were named to Phil Steele’s all-conference teams, the national college football analyst announced Saturday.
Gillmore, a 6-foot-6, 245-pound senior, enters his senior year having played in 32 games and pulling in 64 passes for 731 yards. Last year the Bushland, Texas, native garnered national attention when he was named to the John Mackey Award watch list.
Richburg, who has started all 36 games of his career for Colorado State, was a second-team All-Mountain West selection in 2011, and received honorable mention All-MW in 2010 and '12. A team captain, he anchored an offensive line that saw five different starting combinations a year ago, but steadily improved as the season went along, helping the Rams to three victories in their final five games. He was also one of 44 players named to the Rimington Trophy watch list last week.
Barrett, who was named to Phil Steele’s preseason All-MW first team for the second consecutive year, finished the 2012 campaign with 67 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and one interception which he returned 49 yards for a touchdown. This now marks the fourth straight year the Rams have had a linebacker named to Phil Steele’s first team.
Linebacker Cory James was named to Phil Steele’s second team, while running back Chris Nwoke, offensive lineman Jordan Gragert, defensive back Shaq Bell, safety Trent Matthews, kicker Jared Roberts, and punt returner Joe Hansley were all named to the third team.
