SDSU Announces Annual KGB SkyShow Date
June 3, 2013
SAN DIEGO - The 38th annual KGB SkyShow, the largest fireworks display in San Diego, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 31, following the Aztec football season-opener against Eastern Illinois at Qualcomm Stadium. Kickoff for San Diego State's contest with the Panthers is scheduled for 5 p.m. PT.
Single-game presale tickets for current season-ticket holders will be available on June 17, beginning at 9 a.m. PT. Tickets go on sale to the general public on July 15.
This is the 10th consecutive year the fireworks show has been held in conjunction with an Aztec football game. Last season, the SkyShow was held following SDSU's 52-14 victory over Hawai'i, as the event drew a season-high 50,586 fans.
San Diego State returns 17 starters from last year's squad that finished 9-4 overall, 7-1 in Mountain West play, claimed the 19th conference championship in school history and advanced to a school-record third consecutive bowl game. The Aztecs ended the campaign by winning their final seven regular-season games.
