FRESNO, Calif. - The 940 AM ESPN Radio and Paul Evert's RV Country Bulldog Express hit Bakersfield on Wednesday with head coach Tim DeRuyter and quarterback Derek Carr to meet with fans in the Me-n-Ed's at the Marketplace.
Right when the crew arrived in Bakersfield, a group of fans in a Bulldog-clad RV meet DeRuyter and Carr for pictures before they headed into the Me-n-Ed's.
"We had a great reception down here, a tremendous crown and we've always had great support from the Bakersfield community," DeRuyter said. "So to come down here and meet some great people made for a great event."
Carr, who is a native of Bakersfield, said it was great to be back in his hometown.
"It reminds me of why I love this place so much and why I love the Valley," Carr said. "These people genuinely love us, they care about us and they want to see us to succeed, so it was great to see the fans come out and share their support with us and coach."
Wednesday was the third day of the Bulldog Express, painting the Valley red by hitting stops throughout the region.
After driving over 800 miles in the first three days, Thursday is an off day. Things pick back up on Friday with a morning visit at the Madera Auto Center from 9-11 a.m. and a afternoon event at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Fresno from 3-6 p.m.
