June 9, 2013
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- College Football Performance Awards recently announced its 2013 CFPA Offensive Awards Watch List, and University of New Mexico senior Kasey Carrier earned a spot on the list.
"Congratulations to Kasey Carrier on earning a spot on the 2013 CFPA Offensive Awards Watch List," said CFPA Executive Director Brad Smith. "Under head coach Bob Davie, Carrier will be a top running back to watch in 2013."
As a junior in 2012, Carrier broke the Lobos' single-season rushing record with 1,469 yards, eclipsing the mark previously of 1,450 by DonTrell Moore in 2003.
Carrier also set a school and Mountain West single-game rushing record during the 2012 season with a 338-yard performance against Air Force on Oct. 20.
All CFPA recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. All players are eligible for awards at their respective positions; players are not preemptively eliminated from consideration. More than 130 CFPA recipients have signed professional contracts, and twenty-one have been first-round NFL Draft selections.
