Two Football Telecasts Added to 2013 Mountain West Schedule
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West announced the addition of two football games to its ESPN slate of appearances for the 2013 season. On Thursday, Aug. 29, Fresno State will open the season at home against non-conference opponent Rutgers, with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. PT on ESPNU. Boise State's home opener on Saturday, Sept. 7 against non-conference foe Tennessee-Martin will be shown on ESPN3, beginning at 1 p.m. MT.
Today's announcement is part of the Conference's national television package for MW-controlled contests in 2013. A total of 44 football games will air across various platforms on CBS Sports Network, the Mountain West's primary rights holder, and ESPN, the league's second national television partner. Last month, the initial slates of ESPN and CBS Sports Network selections were released. Additional television exposure for non-conference road contests will be announced at a later date, along with information regarding telecasts as part of the MW regional agreement with ROOT SPORTS and carriage plans for the MW Digital Network.
Beginning in the fall of 2013, MW football membership will include Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, New Mexico, Utah State and Wyoming in the Mountain Division and Fresno State, Hawai`i, Nevada, San Diego State, San Jose State and UNLV in the West Division.
