Air Force picked for finish sixth in MW preseason poll

Air Force was picked to finish sixth in the Mountain West this season in the preseason media poll released by the conference office. The Falcons received 170 points in the voting by the league's media members. Senior linebacker Alex Means and senior kicker Parker Herrington were each named to the preseason all-conference team.

Boise State was picked to the win the conference, receiving 27 of the possible 30 first-place votes and 296 points. Nevada was picked second with 244 points, followed by Fresno State with two first-place votes and 231 points. Wyoming was picked fourth (213) while San Diego State was fifth with 173 points and one first-place vote. Hawai'i was seventh (116), Colorado State eighth (111), UNLV ninth (63) and New Mexico 10th (33).

Means was third on the team last season with 77 total tackles. He led the Falcons with 9.5 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks which each ranked among the league's best. Herrington was a first-team selection last season after leading the conference in field goal percentage (83.3 percent), hitting 15 of 18 attempts. He also led the league with 1.15 field goals made per game.
