LAS VEGAS, Nev. --- No surprises developed Tuesday morning as the Mountain West released its 2012 media poll.

The media placed the Lobos 10th in the 10-team league. UNM picked up 33 points, 30 fewer than ninth-place UNLV. Boise State, which garnered 27 of the 30 first-place votes, picked up 296 points as the preseason champion, followed by Nevada (244 points), Fresno State (231 points, two first-place votes), Wyoming (213 points) and San Diego State (173 points, one first-place vote).

The conference media have picked the Lobos last in each of the last three seasons.

Also, no Lobos were named to the preseason all-conference team. The last time the preseason team did not include a UNM student-athlete was 2000.

Coach Bob Davie, senior quarterback B.R. Holbrook and senior outside linebacker Joseph Harris are representing UNM during the MW Media Days event that runs through Wednesday.
