The San Diego State athletic department has released the promotional schedule for the 2012 football season, highlighted by the KGB SkyShow on Oct. 6 against Hawai'i. This will mark the ninth straight year an Aztec football game has played host to the city's largest fireworks display and is annually one of the largest attended sporting events in San Diego.

San Diego State has promotional events in conjunction with seven Saturday home games. In addition to the SkyShow, a t-shirt giveaway is scheduled, as well as Homecoming Weekend, Hall of Fame festivities and other events.

SDSU's first home game of the season will kickoff at 4:30 p.m. PT on Sept. 8 against Army at Qualcomm Stadium. The contest will serve as GEICO Fleet Week Classic and also coincide with the Welcome Week Student Tailgate. The first 5,000 students in attendance will receive a free "Fear the Spear" t-shirt, courtesy of Associated Students. Another giveaway is also scheduled, as the first 10,000 fans will receive a free Aztec Flag.

The Aztecs will then have consecutive home games against North Dakota (Sept. 15) and San Jose State (Sept. 22) and each game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. PT start. The contest with North Dakota will serve as Band Night, while the showdown with San Jose State will be the Hall of Fame/Football Alumni Weekend. A special ticket discount is also available for these two contests as fans can save $8 off regularly priced $16 tickets and $5 off regularly priced $11 tickets.

San Diego State returns to Mission Valley on Oct. 6 for the KGB SkyShow and a tilt against first-year Mountain West member Hawai'i. The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. PT kickoff and is designated as SDSU Family Weekend, with many events scheduled around campus for students and their families.

The Aztecs will continue conference play against Colorado State on Oct. 13. The 5 p.m. PT contest with the Rams will serve as the annual homecoming contest. Two weeks later, SDSU returns home to face UNLV on Oct. 27 for a 5 p.m. PT contest and there will be a Cheer and Dance Clinic Performance at halftime by the SDSU cheer squad and dance team.

The final home game of the season for the Aztecs will be on Nov. 10 against Air Force. The contest is set for a 5 p.m. PT start and the first 20,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Aztec Camouflage Hat. The game against the Falcons will also serve as Senior Night.

Fans are encouraged to welcome the San Diego State football squad to The Q at the Warrior Walk two hours prior to kickoff in parking lot F-3. After greeting the team at the Warrior Walk, fans and alumni can visit the Aztec Village in parking lot F-1. The Aztec Village features food and beverages for purchase, live entertainment, as well as performances by the Marching Aztecs, SDSU dance team and cheer squad.

SDSU football single-game tickets for all seven home games are available beginning Monday, Aug. 6, at 9 a.m. PT. A three-game mini-plan will also be available on Monday for $40 and it will include seating in plaza sections 10 and 11 for contests against Army (Sept. 8), Colorado State (Oct. 13) and Air Force (Nov. 10). The first 500 fans who buy their mini-plan will receive a coupon for a free large 1-topping pizza from Papa John's.

Both single game tickets, which start at $11, and SDSU football mini-plans can be purchased online through GoAztecs.com, over the phone by calling (619) 283-7378, or by visiting the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium's Window "E."
