10 Reasons To Come Out To Bulldog Stadium Saturday

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State Bulldogs, who have won four out of its last five games, return home this coming weekend to host Hawai'i at 4 p.m. Saturday in Bulldog Stadium.

The Bulldogs, standing at 6-3 overall and 4-1 in Mountain West play, look to stay hot this weekend when they host the Warriors (1-6, 0-4 MW). Fresno State's exciting style of play is one of many reasons for fans to come out to Saturday's game to cheer on the 'Dogs.

Below is a listing of 10 things in no particular order Bulldog fans can look forward to at Saturday's game.

1. Fresno State has a 4-0 record at home this year and has averaged 50 points and 555 yards of offense on its home turf. The Bulldogs have won their four home games by an average margin of 30.5 points.

2. Saturday is Youth and Band Day at Bulldog Stadium. Youth tickets are available for $18 and the price includes a voucher for a free hot dog, small soda and chips. Local high school bands will be in attendance and performing at halftime of the game with the Fresno State marching band.

3. Saturday's forecast is calling temperatures in the mid 70's and lots of sun. With a 4 p.m. kickoff and parking lots opening at 12 p.m., fans will have plenty of time to enjoy a perfect fall day out at Bulldog Stadium.

4. Junior quarterback Derek Carr ranks second nationally with 2,766 passing yards this year and is tied for second with 26 touchdown passes. In four home games, Carr has averaged 350.5 passing yards, thrown 15 total TDs and completed 74 percent of his passes.

5. Senior safety Phillip Thomas continues to lead the nation in both interceptions and total take-aways (seven picks, one fumble recovery). Thomas has returned three interceptions for touchdowns at Bulldog Stadium this season.

6. Senior running back Robbie Rouse enters the game with 999 rushing yards on the year. He needs one more yard to become the first tailback in Fresno State history with three separate 1,000 yard rushing seasons.

7. Fresno State students in the student section will have a chance to win season passes to China Peak.

8. With a 49-32 win at New Mexico on Oct. 27, Fresno State won its sixth game of the season and thus became bowl eligible. The Bulldogs look to improve to 5-1 in the conference this weekend against Hawai'i.

9. Speaking of Hawai'i, Saturday's game will be the 45th meeting between the 'Dogs and Warriors. This will be the 21st consecutive season Fresno State and Hawai'i have played one another and the Bulldogs lead the all-time series 22-21-1.

10. Saturday's game will be the 200th in the history of Bulldog Stadium. Fresno State is 152-45-2 (.764) all-time in its stadium that opened back Nov. 25, 1980.
