FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State football coaches' wives and families are sponsoring a food drive on Nov. 3 before the Bulldogs take on Hawai'i. The families wanted to find a way to give back to the community that has welcomed them with open arms.

"All of our football families, our wives and children, really, really love living here in Fresno," said head coach Tim DeRuyter. "As a part of our respect and thanks for getting the chance to live in this community, we wanted to give back. We are going to do what we can to support it and hopefully we'll get the Red Wave out there supporting it."

The Fresno State coaching staffs families will be at every gate to Bulldog Stadium collecting canned food items and monetary donations for the Community Food Bank.

"We've been blessed and welcomed since we moved here," said Christina DeRuyter, who is coach DeRuyter's daughter. "We wanted to find a way to give back to the community, like they have helped us."

The food drive is something that DeRuyter's and the other football families have helped organize at other university's they have been a part of.

The Community Food Bank distributes food to those in need in Fresno, Madera and Kings Counties. For more information check out the Facebook page "Feed the Valley".
