LAS VEGAS - Cox Communications customers in Las Vegas gained access this week to Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes. This includes the broadcast of Saturday's UNLV football game as well as the team's remaining games vs. Wyoming on Nov. 17 and at Hawai'i on Nov. 24.
The new channels will also show 11 Runnin' Rebel basketball games during the 2012-13 season. These networks are the local TV homes for Los Angeles Lakers, LA Galaxy and Los Angeles Sparks games, as well as in-depth, dedicated, team-focused programming.
Time Warner Cable SportsNet is available on Cox channel 66 and in high definition on HD channel 1066. Time Warner Cable Deportes will be available on Cox channel 65 and in high definition on channel 1065. Cox is currently offering a 30-day free preview of the channels and beginning Dec. 7, they will be available in the Cox channel lineup.
Cox customers also will have access to Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes programming online and on mobile devices in the future.
"SportsNet and Deportes are great additions to our sports programming," said Mike Bolognini, market vice president for Cox Communications, Las Vegas. "We are exceptionally pleased to bring UNLV Runnin' Rebel Basketball and Los Angeles Laker Basketball to Cox customers in Southern Nevada, as well as sports action from the LA Galaxy and Los Angeles Sparks and other team-related programming."
"The ability to have Runnin' Rebel Basketball shown on the Cox channel lineup is monumental for our basketball program, our athletic department and for our university," said UNLV Director of Athletics Jim Livengood. "To have Cox Las Vegas go above and beyond to make this happen is just another way the company has partnered to help our programs and university. The Runnin' Rebels, Las Vegas and all of our fans truly win with this announcement."
