Heroic Celebration Takes Place Saturday on Branch Field
Nov. 8, 2012
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Saturday is Heroes Day on Branch Field at University Stadium as the New Mexico Lobos football team plays host to the Wyoming Cowboys.
The Lobos will wear helmets with special decals – the stripe down the middle of the helmet will be red, white and blue, and UNM’s lobo head logo also will be red, white and blue.
Military, military veterans, police, EMT or firefighter with identification or badges can purchase tickets for $10 in the Turquoise and Cherry sections of the stadium.
From 10:30 a.m.-until 1:30 p.m., military static displays will be in the Howl Zone, and “The Prowl” – the Lobo football team’s arrival and walk to the stadium – begins at 11:30 a.m.
The Boy Scouts will participate in an on-field flag presentation prior to the opening kickoff.
The pregame coin toss will feature a Wounded Warrior – a selected member of the military that was wounded in combat – and the Army will hold a swear-in of future soldiers on Branch Field at halftime.
Come watch the Lobos go for win No. 5 on the season, which would make their most successful season in five years, and show your support for our local heroes.
Fans can purchase tickets at the Lobo Ticket Office in The Pit today and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., or at any participating Albertson’s. Fans can visit www.GoLobos.com orwww.unmtickets.com for online sales, or call 925-LOBO or 1-800-955-HOWL.
