Wyoming's Robert Herron Recognized By College Football Performance Awards

LARAMIE, Wyo. - Wyoming junior wide receiver Robert Herron has been recognized this week by College Football Performance Awards for his play last Saturday in a 28-42 home loss to San Diego State. Herron caught a career high 10 passes for a career high 187 yards against the Aztecs. He also scored two touchdowns on receptions of 70 and 42 yards, tying a career high. It was the third time this season, and fourth time in his career that he had two TD receptions in a single game.
Herron was one of only seven FBS wide receivers in the nation honored this week. He was one of six Honorable Mention selections. This week's Wide Receiver Performer of the Week was Cody Hoffman (BYU), while the Honorable Mention WRs of the Week were Herron (Wyoming), Darrin Moore (Texas Tech), Terrance Williams (Baylor), Donte Moncrief (Ole Miss), Patrick Hearn (UAB) and Jamison Crowder (Duke).
This is the second time this season that Herron has been honored by College Football Performance Awards as one of the top wide receivers in the country. He was named the Co-National Wide Receiver of the Week, along with Austin Franklin of New Mexico State. Herron was recognized for his performance in the 2012 season opener against Texas. He caught five passes for 173 yards and scored two touchdowns receiving against the Longhorns.
