Lobos' Reed Earns East-West Shrine Game Invite

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - University of New Mexico senior tight end Lucas Reed has been invited to the 88th annual East-West Shrine game on Jan. 19, 2013.

The 6-foot-6 product out of Tucson, Ariz., helped the Lobos average 301.3 rushing yards per game to rank fifth in the nation in 2012.

Reed finished his UNM career with 77 receptions for 949 and six touchdowns. He played in 48 games with 33 career starts.

The East-West Shrine game will take place on Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., and air on NFL Network at 2 p.m. Mountain Time.

More than 90 players who participated in the 2012 East-West Shrine game attended NFL camps, according to the official East-West Shrine Game website (www.shrinegame.com). The breakdown was 37 players drafted and 56 free agents.
