Westmoreland Ties for Seventh at Rice Intercollegiate

Sophomore Kyle Westmoreland posted his third top 10 finish this season and fourth of his career and the Air Force men's golf team finished in 14th place after the third and final round of the Rice Intercollegiate Tuesday in Houston, Texas. The Falcons finished with a three-round total of 900 on the par 72, 7,184-yard Westwood Golf Club.
Westmoreland, who was tied for first after two rounds, finished in a tie for seventh place after shooting a one-over par 73 on Tuesday. He completed the tournament with a career-best two-under par total of 214. Freshman Blake Edwards, playing in his first varsity tournament, finished in a tie for 32nd place with a total of 222.
Northwestern won the team title with a two-under par total of 862, four shots better than runner-up Houston. Meanwhile, Zachery Fullerton of New Mexico State won the individual title after defeating Northwestern's Eric Chun on the third playoff hole.
The Falcons travel to Oneonta, Ala., March 5-6 for the Samford Intercollegiate.
