Men's golf recap: CSU finishes Callaway Match Play in 12th

BRADENTON, Fla.- The Colorado State men’s golf team finished the Callaway Match Play tournament played at the Concession Golf Club in 12th place Tuesday. The No. 14 seeded Arizona State Sun Devils beat the No. 13 seeded Rams 3.5-1.5.

Senior Zahkai Brown was the only individual to win a match. Brown defeated Spencer Fletcher 5 and 4. Freshman Cameron Harrell halved his match with Stan Gautier to leave the team’s point total at 1.5.

Junior Kirby Pettitt lost to Mathias Schjoelberg 4 and 3. Senior Michael Wuertz lost a tight match to Austin Quick 1-up. Cameron Palmer beat Sophomore Parker Edens 3 and 1 to leave the Sun Devils with 3.5 points.

Top seeded Arkansas defeated No. 3 seeded Duke in the championship match to claim the title. The full bracket is available on CollegiateMatchPlay.com.

CSU will be back in action in Tempe, Ariz., at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational on April 6th.
