The Air Force golf team is in fifth place after the second round of the 2012 Desert Shootout in Goodyear, Ariz. The Falcons shot a two-under par total of 286 Friday on the par-72, 7,015-yard Palm Valley Golf Course for a two-round total of seven-under par 569, three shots behind fourth-place San Diego.

Air Force senior Robert Belz continues to be the team's top individual and is tied for ninth place after firing an even-par 72 on Friday. He remains at four-under par for the tournament. Junior Andrew Hoops and sophomore Kyle Westmoreland each shot a team-best 71 on Friday and are tied for 23rd place with a two-round total of one-under par 143.

Freshman Blake Edwards equaled his career-best with an even-par 72 and is tied for 39th place while senior Caleb Leestma is tied for 55th after shooting a 76 on Friday.

The final round begins on Saturday, March 24 with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.
