GOODYEAR, Ariz.- Colorado State was unable to match yesterday’s performance, as the Rams fell from third to seventh place, after shooting a 286 (+2) in the second round of the Desert Shootout.  The Rams now have a two-day total of 566 (-2).  

Head Coach Christian Newton knows that it will take a complete team effort in order to be in the hunt tomorrow.

“Five guys in the round the entire day will be key,” said Coach Newton.  “Our upperclassmen have to step up to play well tomorrow.”

Parker Edens kept his tear going, as he was once again under par with a second round 68 (-3).  Edens has a 36-hole score of 135 (-7) and has sole possession of fourth place.  As well as this, Edens has carded 11 birdies and is the leader in par-four scoring with an average of 3.73.  

Teammate Kory Harrell did not match yesterday’s 70 (-1), but played well enough to score a 72 (+1), and is tied in 21st place with a two-round total of 142 (E).  Harrell has recorded nine birdies in his two rounds.  

Kory’s brother Cameron shot his second consecutive 72 (+1) and now has a two-day score of 144 (+2).  Cameron Harrell is one of nine players to have recorded an eagle and is in a tie in 40th place.  Kirby Pettitt slipped in the rankings, as he went from a share of 31st to a share of 50th after shooting a second round 75 (+4).  Pettitt now has a total score of 146 (+4).  

Freshman Dominic Kieffer dropped a stroke from yesterday’s action by shooting a 74 (+3) in his second round, and is now tied for 60th place with a two-round score of 147 (+5).  Freshman Brett Wilson, who is competing as an individual, recovered in his second round of action to shoot a 78 (+7) after yesterday’s 84 (+13).  Wilson is now in 95th place with a total score of 162 (+20).  

42 BYU overtook the top spot after 284 (E) on the day, and now has a 36-hole score of 559 (-9).  Brigham Young is followed by 19 Illinois (560), 37 Baylor (563), 39 Tulsa (564), 84 Wichita State (564), 105 Denver (565), 70 Colorado State (566), 135 Nebraska (567), 108 Idaho (569), 116 Air Force (573), 103 Kansas (574), Southern 154 Utah (574), 144 New Mexico State (576), 106 Kansas State (582), 178 Boise State (583) and 161 Wyoming (590).
