Nevada in Ninth After the First Round of the Mountain West Championship

TUSCON, Ariz. – The Nevada men’s golf team is in Ninth place after the first round of the Mountain West Championship.

Nevada got off to a slow start on Friday and carded of a 30-over 314 in the first round.

Junior Ryan Mulvany is tied for 32nd after shooting a six-over 77 in the first round. Freshman Kit Carson is tied for 34th with a 7-over 78. Sophomore Gustavo Chuang is tied for 37th, junior Brain Knoll is tied for 41st and sophomore Taylor Knoll finished tied for 43rd heading into the second round.

New Mexico is leading the tournament with a two-under 282. New Mexico’s Victor Perez is leading the individual tournament with a five-under 66.

The second 18-hole round will start on Saturday.
