TEMPE, Ariz.-- As the only Bulldog to represent Fresno State in the NCAA West Regional, senior Rufie Fessler fired one-over par, 71 to remain to the top-20 of the 75-player field.

"Rufie is close to shooting a very good round," head coach Mike Watney said. "68 and 71 is good, but he could pop a 65 anytime like he did earlier in the season."

Fessler's round two performance placed him in a five-way tie for 16th place. On the tournament, Fessler sits one-under par, 139 (68-71) and eleven strokes behind tournament leader Greg Eason of UCF.

On the day, Fessler recorded three birdies and shot even throughout eleven holes.

"Today was a bit of a struggle again on tee to green," Fessler said. "I'm putting really well though and that's why I'm hanging in there. We'll go out tomorrow and try to hopefully put it all together."

Fessler tees off the third and final round of the NCAA West Regional on Saturday, May 18 at 9:34 a.m. on the tenth hole of the Karsten Golf Course with Jonathan Klotz of Kennesaw State and Carlos Kim of Lehigh University.
