The Wyoming Cowboy golf team played the third round of the Ram Masters Invitational on Tuesday, in Fort Collins, Colo., and finished in 10th place of the 15-team field after shooting a final round 299 (+19). The Pokes finished with a three-round score of 892 (+52). True freshman Kamrin Allen led the Cowboy scoring and was their top finisher tying for 24th place of the 85-man field. Allen finished the tournament with a final round 73 (+3) for a 54-hole total of 220 (+10). The top-25 finish is Allen's second in three events and the second of his young Cowboy career.

"I thought Kamrin competed very well these last two days," Cowboy head coach Joe Jensen said. "For a true freshman to come in and be our low man is great to see. As a team I thought we started the tournament well yesterday morning, but I am disappointed with the way we finished the last two rounds."

Behind Allen, was junior Eddie Stewart who shot a final round 75 (+5) to finish in a tie for 41st place with a score of 224 (+14). After carding two solid rounds on Monday, junior Brent Baylon struggled on Tuesday, carding a final round 80 (+10) to finish tied with Stewart for 41st place with a score of 224 (+14). Sophomore Jake Hedge improved between the second and third rounds tying Allen for the best Cowboy score of the day with a three-over 73. He finished tied for 52nd place with a three-round total of 226 (+16). Junior Eric Parish shot a final round 78 (+8) to finish tied for 71st place with a score of 231 (+21).

"Brent had a tough day today," Jensen said. "He was playing solid at the start of his round, but started to press and struggled after that. Eric made an early triple bogey, but played pretty solid from that point until his final hole when he made another triple (bogey). We have to correct those mental mistakes and finish rounds like I know we are capable of."

The Ram Masters Invitational was played at Fort Collins Country Club which is a par 70 and played 7,121 yards.

Taking the individual medalist award was Colorado State's Jordan Wetsch who shot a 210 (E). In second place, was Denver's Chun Ji Kim who was two shots back of Wetsch with a score of 212 (+2). Colorado State's Kirby Pettitt finished in third place with a three-round total of 213 (+3). Tying for fourth place were CSU's Parker Edens, Nevada's Zak Griffiths and Weber State's Jordan Herzog who finished with score of 214 (+4).

Wichita State won the team championship with a final tally of 859 (+19). Colorado State finished one stroke behind the Shockers in second with a score of 860 (+20). Finishing third and one stroke behind CSU was Nevada with a team score of 861 (+21). Denver closed the event in fourth place with a score of 867 (+27). Mercer and Weber State tied for fifth place with a three-round total of 873 (+33).

The Cowboys will have the rest of the week off before returning to play on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 24-25 at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational. The CU Invite will be played a Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo.
