Men's Golf's Tom Berry in first place at The Preview

ALPHARETTA, Ga. - The San Diego State men's golf team sits tied for third place with a score of 7-over 287 after the first day of competition at the Ping/Golfweek Preview at the par-70, 7,248-yard Capital City Club-Crabapple in Alpharetta, Ga. SDSU senior Tom Berry is the sole owner of first place at the end of the first day of the three day tournament.

On Sunday, Tom Berry carded an impressive first round of 3-under 67, including three birdies, to claim sole possession of first place. Following closely behind, freshman Riccardo Michelini sits tied for 11th place with a score of 1-over 71, including one birdie and two double bogeys.

Freshman Robert Gojuangco posted a score of 1-over 71 to tie for 46th place, while fellow first-year Aztec Gunn Yang is tied for 58th place with a score of 5-over 75. Tied at 66th, sophomore Xander Schauffele notched a 6-over 76.

SDSU will continue competition on Monday when the Aztecs will be paired with Georgia and host Georgia Tech, beginning at 9:50 am ET.
