FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno State men's golf team took on the third and final round of the Pacific Invitational Wednesday, Oct. 31 and finished in 11th place.

The Bulldogs shot 11 under par for a score of 853 (289-287-277).

Junior Nate Jessup shot nine under par to finish in a tie for 21st place (71-69-67--207). In round three, Jessup made six birdies in a row and shot five under par.

"Nate's six birdies in a row were phenomenal," head coach Mike Watney said. "We started on the back nine and shot 30 on the first nine and had it under eight par on the first nine, but unfortunately he did not have a good finish and lost a couple good holes. He still shot a 67, which was a very solid round."

In round three, Troix Tonkham made four birdies and one eagle on hole four.

The Bulldog lineup each shot par or under in the final round of the par-72, 6,777-yard tournament held at Brookside Country Club in Stockton, Calif.

"Overall, we lost a lot of strokes where we should not have and we definitely have work to do, but it was nice that everyone shot par or better today," Watney said. "Hopefully it helps us to get a little a more psyched for our next tournament, which is going to happen fairly quickly."

The Bulldogs travel to Hawaii to tee off their final tournament of the fall season on Monday, Nov. 5th. Follow the 'Dogs on
