Men's golf preview: Colorado State looks to strike at MWC Championship

After a very disappointing outing at the Cougar Classic, the Rams are fired up and ready for action against all of its bitter rivals at the Mountain West Conference Championships, beginning on Friday, May 3rd. The Rams finished in fifth place year, but Colorado State feels ready to strike.
Head Coach Christian Newton believes his team is poised to make some noise over the weekend.
“The Mountain West Conference is always a big deal and we are eager to redeem ourselves since our last outing,” said Coach Newton.
The Mountain West Championship will be played at OMNI Tucson National for the seventh consecutive year. The par-71, 7,144 yard course has been named of Golf Digest’s “75 Best Golf Resorts in North America”, as well as hosting numerous PGA Tour and NCAA events.
The Rams (74) will be squaring up against its conference rivals Air Force (118), Boise State (178), Fresno State (71), Nevada (125), New Mexico (6), San Diego State (52), UNLV (35) and Wyoming (174).

Colorado State will be playing with the talents of Parker Edens, Kirby Pettitt, Cameron Harrell, Dominic Kieffer and Kory Harrell. Play will begin at 8 a.m. MT time with 18 holes being played Friday.
