Three MW Men's Golfers Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three Mountain West men's golfers were named 2012 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Colorado State's Zahkai Brown and TCU's Johan de Beer each were tabbed as All-America Scholars for the second consecutive season and were joined by New Mexico's John Catlin on the 2012 list. Brown, de Beer and Catlin were each named to the 2012 Academic All-MW team.

In addition, incoming member Fresno State was represented, as the Bulldogs' Brian Sunker received All-America Scholar distinction.

A total of 147 players from the Division I level earned the honor. To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
