Men's golf preview: Ram Master Invitational

Next on the Tee
The Rams will host their first ever tournament this Monday and Tuesday in the first annual Ram Master Invitational.  At the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, new coach Christian Newton led Colorado State to a fourth place finish in his first tournament as head coach.  Sophomore Cameron Harrell led the Rams with a sixth place finish after shooting a three-round total of 213 (-3).  Harrell and the rest of the Rams will look to defend their home turf and rally for their first team victory of the year.  The 54-hole tournament will be played in threesomes as the teams will play 36 holes in a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m. MST on Monday, Sept. 17. The final 18 hole round will be played on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 8 a.m. MST. 

The Course
The first annual Ram Master Invitational will be played at Fort Collins Country Club.  The par 70, 7,121 yard course was founded in 1959 and is the highest rated golf course in northern Colorado.

The Field
As well as Colorado State (63), the competition will include Air Force (156), Boise State (145), Denver (106), DePaul (181), Drake (235), Illinois State (186), Mercer (92), Nevada (89), Northern Colorado (216), Northern Iowa (199), Southern Utah (154), Weber State (221), Wichita State (37) and Wyoming (171).

Starting Lineup
The Rams' starting lineup will consist of Cameron Harrell, Parker Edens, Dominic Kieffer, Kory Harrell, Kirby Pettit, with Jordan Wetsch competing as an individual.  Harrell and Edens will look to build off of a solid performance in Colorado Springs and claim the first ever Ram Master Invitational.  The tournament is open to the public as well.
