Lobo Catlin Ties for 6th at All-America Golf Classic

In El Paso, Texas, University of New Mexico senior John Catlin shot a 4-under 67 during Tuesday’s final round and tied for sixth place at 9 under par in the Sun Bowl Western Refining All-America Golf Classic.

Catlin’s overall score of 69-68-67=204 left him five shot behind the tournament winner, UNLV’s Kevin Penner.  Penner finished at 14-under 199 (65-66-68) to beat Arkansas’ Sebastian Cappelen by one stroke in the event that features 23 of the nation’s top golfers competing head to head at the El Paso Country Club.

Catlin tied with Auburn’s Dominic Bozzelli (70-68-66=204) for sixth.

Catlin and the fourth-ranked Lobo men’s golf team returns to action Jan. 28-29 at the Arizona Invitational in Tucson.
