RIVERSIDE - The No. 66 San Diego State Men's Tennis team lost to No. 2 USC, 4-0, Friday afternoon in the first day of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, which was moved to the Hampton Indoor Tennis Center in Riverside, Calif. due to rain.

SDSU sophomore Thorsten Bertsch split his first two sets in No. 2 singles play against No. 61 Eric Johnson, 3-6, 6-3, before the third set was suspended. The first set between sophomore Spencer Simon and USC's Max de Vroome at No. 5 singles was also suspended, while No. 123 Andranik Khachatryan didn't finish his matchup with USC's Michael Grant in the No. 6 slot.

USC earned the doubles point after Bertsch and junior Hunter Nicholas lost to De Vroome and Roberto Quiroz, 0-8, while junior Shiva Sangwan and Simon fell to Grant and Jonny Wang by a score of 3-8.
