LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - In what was the last regular-season conference meeting between the two sides, the UNLV men's tennis team lost 6-1 to TCU on Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Rebels fell to 7-11 and 1-1 in the Mountain West while the Horned Frogs, who move to the Big 12 Conference after this season, improved to 6-11 and 1-0 in league play.
TCU, which has now won five straight over UNLV, earned a 1-0 lead by taking all three doubles matches.
Moving to singles play, the top half of the Frog lineup clinched it for the visitors with three straight-set wins. The bottom half was much more competitive with two going to three sets and UNLV getting its lone point on court four where Tamas Batyi downed Will Stein 6-4, 6-3.
Next up, the Rebels host New Mexico on Sunday beginning with doubles play at noon. Admission is free of charge.
