Lobos Edge Past Wolfpack 4-3

RENO, NEV. - The Lobos were able to edge past the Wolf Pack with a score of 4-3 on their home courts. The Lobos are now 11-11 overall and 2-2 in conference play, while the Wolf Pack drops to 8-10 overall and 0-3 in league play.
The match started off with doubles with Nevada earning wins at numbers one (9-8) and two (8-4) to get the doubles point.
Nevada may have clinched the doubles point but the Lobos were already preparing for the comeback in singles play.
The Lobos were able to clinch wins from numbers one to three. Jadon Phillips made a huge comeback at number one after falling in the first set 7-5, to win the next set 6-4 and the third set in a tiebreak 7-6. Samir Iftikhar also made a huge comeback at number three after falling in the first set 6-1, to win the next two sets in close contest 6-4, 6-4.
Nevada had to fight hard against Mitch McDaniels who managed to push two sets to tiebreaks, but the Wolf Pack came out on top to win 1-6, 7-6, 7-6. Nevada also won at number five 6-3, 6-2.
Hignett was able to clinch his win over Philip Hinojosa from Nevada with a score of 7-5, 6-2.
The Lobos will now travel to San Diego, Calif. to face conference opponent San Diego State on April 14, 2013.
