Men's Tennis Closes Out Regular Season

BOISE STATE (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team closed its regular-season schedule with a 7-0 loss at No. 31 Boise State on Friday afternoon at the Appleton Tennis Center.
The Rebels fell to 7-15 and 1-4 in the Mountain West while the Broncos finished undefeated in league play at 5-0 and improved to 24-6 overall.
Boise opened the afternoon by winning two of three doubles matches for one team point. UNLV's got its win at the top position where Tamas Batyi and Johannes Markel downed James Meredith and Nathan Sereke 8-7 in a tiebreaker.
Batyi continued to look good in singles as he went toe-to-toe with 82nd-ranked Damian Hume on court two. Hume won the first set 6-4 before the Rebel sophomore took the second, 7-5. The match would go to a super-tiebreaker and the Bronco standout emerged with the victory, 10-7.
Next up, the Rebels await their schedule for next week's Mountain West Championships in San Diego.
