UNM Wraps Up Denver Invitational

DENVER, COLO. – The Lobos wrap up the final day with three doubles wins along with two singles win to finish the Denver Invitational. Doubles teams Jadon Phillips and Conor Berg Nebraska’s Stegner/Sock finished the event with eight points each but UNM was not able to claim the doubles event as Nebraska’s Stegner/Sock had the head-to-head win over the Lobos.

The Lobos faced Denver in doubles winning all three matches.

Jadon Phillips and Conor Berg defeated Krammer/Biason 8-4. Samir Iftikhar and Mads Hegelund defeated Vorkefeld/Manley also 8-4. Riaan Du Toit and Mitch McDaniels did not drop a game against Bjorne/Bjorne to win the match 8-0.

In singles, UNM went head-to-head against Nebraska.

The Lobos managed to gain two wins with Riaan Du Toit defeated Sock 6-1, 6-2 and Mitch McDaniels defeated Videtich 6-2, 6-3.

UNM also faced Air Force in yesterday’s match up in doubles.

Jadon Phillips and Conor Berg were the only doubles team to claim victory as they defeated Wilhelm/Taylor with a score of 8-6.

The Lobos will be traveling to Tulsa, Okla. to take part in the ITA All-American Championships being held from Sept. 29-Oct. 7.
