In doubles, the duo of Andranik Khachatryan and Juan Florez cruised to an 8-4 win against Sacramento State's Roy Brandys and Henrik Raag. SDSU's Freddy Gelbrich and Spencer Simon, meanwhile, earned a first round bye to tomorrow's second round of action.
In singles play, the Aztecs picked up one win in the "A" Flight as Florez continued his successful day with a 6-4, 6-4 victory against Kona Luu. The Bogota, Columbia, native was unable to advance in the next round though as he dropped a 6-3, 6-0 decision to USC's Max de Vroome.

Simon, meanwhile, suffered a 6-3, 6-3 setback to Marek Marksoo of Sacramento State. In addition to their doubles match tomorrow, Gelbrich and Simon will continue singles action in the consolation bracket.
Khachatryan was the lone Aztec in the "B" Flight and after receiving a first round bye, he advanced to the semifinals with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 win against Arizona's Carlos Bermudez. With a win tomorrow against Matthew Kirby of Tulsa, Khachatryan would face USC's Corey Smith for the championship of the "B" Flight.
