Doubles Team Still Alive

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV is down to a lone doubles team after the third day of action Friday at the 2012 USTA/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mountain Regional Championships, which are being held this week at the Darling Tennis Center.
In singles, the Rebels got one entry into the quarters before he was eliminated. Charlie Alvarado won his Round of 16 match over BYU's John Pearce, 6-3, 6-3, before dropping a tough one to Lance Wilhelm of Air Force, 7-6, 7-6 later in the day.
The tournament runs through Sunday.
This is event one of 24 USTA/ITA Regional Championships for NCAA Division I men and women taking place over these middle two weekends of October at campuses throughout the country. The singles and doubles champions from the regionals will advance to the 2012 USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, taking place November 8-11, at the indoor facilities at the USTA-Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
