TCU Tennis Bound For College Station Clash With Aggies

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's tennis team will take to the road again this weekend, battling No. 12 Texas A&M Friday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
The Horned Frogs (4-5) come into the weekend with wins in their last two matches against Wichita State and UT-Arlington. The Purple and White have found their stroke in singles play as of late, earning five wins against the Shockers and Mavericks. Freshman Nick Chappell has claimed a victory in six-straight matches, boasting a 6-1 singles ledger this spring. Senior Daniel Sanchez was recently named Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for his performance against Wichita State.
Texas A&M (6-4) enters Friday’s match as the No. 12 team in the country, according to the Campbell’s/ITA College Tennis Team Rankings. The Aggies are coming off of a 1-2 record at the ITA Indoor Team Championships in Charlottesville, Va. Texas A&M hasn’t played an outdoor match since taking down Mississippi State by the score of 4-3 on Jan. 29, marking the 40th consecutive home victory for the Aggies.
TCU holds a 34-16 advantage in the all-time series against the Aggies. TAMU has taken the last five meetings with the Frogs.
