TCU Hits The Road To Challenge No. 8 Texas Sunday

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's tennis team will travel to battle future Big 12 Conference foe Texas at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center in Austin. The match will be televised on the Longhorn Network.

The Horned Frogs (5-6) enjoyed a 5-2 win over Arizona Friday night at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. Freshman Facundo Lugones picked up his fourth-straight win after recently being named Mountain West Tennis Player of the Week for his efforts against the Texas A&M and UT-Arlington. Freshmen Will Stein clinched the team win for TCU, while newcomer Nick Chappell added to his team-leading 7-2 singles record this spring.

No. 8 Texas (10-3) has had the last week off after earning wins against UT Arlington and UT-San Antonio on Feb. 25. Freshman Soren Hess-Olesen leads the Longhorns in the ITA singles rankings at No. 50, while junior Daniel Whitehead is slated at No. 79. Junior Chris Camillone and sophomore David Holiner rank 35th in the ITA doubles rankings.

TCU will return home to the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center for a four-match homestand that begins with Columbia on March 13.
