Horned Frogs Open April Action With Rice Sunday

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's tennis team will host No. 42 Rice at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center Sunday. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
As always, admission is free to all TCU tennis matches and there will be free pizza, while supplies last, courtesy of Pizza Inn and Pie Five Pizza Company.
The Horned Frogs (5-10) will look to get back into the win column after suffering a 7-0 loss to No. 25 Oklahoma on March 25. The Purple and White are led by newcomer Nick Chappell as the Indianapolis, Ind., native owns a 9-4 singles record from the top spot and is currently ranked No. 114 in the latest Campbell’s/ITA College Tennis rankings.
Rice (14-5) extended its currents winning streak to six matches after opening the weekend with a 4-3 win over SMU Friday in Dallas. The Owls have claimed victories in 11 of their last 13 matches.
Rice has four players with 10 or more singles wins this spring.
While TCU holds a 30-12 advantage in the all-time series with Rice, the Owls have dominated the more recent history by winning the last seven matches against the Frogs. The last victory by TCU came in Houston in 2003.
