FRESNO, Calif. --- First year head men's tennis coach Evan Austin announced Thursday the addition of Felipe Fritz who has signed a financial aid agreement to join the 'Dogs in January.

"Felipe is going to bring a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to our program this spring," said Austin. "He's had great results on both the junior and men's circuit in singles and doubles and I look for him to make an immediate impact for us."

Fritz, a native of Santiago, Chile, has a career high ATP ranking of 1504 and junior ITF rank of 192. His best results include a quarterfinal appearance at the ITF G2 Copa Milo, Santiago in 2011 and a second round main draw appearance at the Peru F1 futures in August of 2011.

"I'm really excited to join the Fresno State tennis team this January," Fritz said. "I look forward to working extremely hard, helping the team in any way possible, and expect to improve my tennis and reach the professional level after graduation."

This is Austin's second signing this fall for players to join the Bulldog family for the spring semester. Nikolas Papic, also a native of Santiago, Chile, will join the 'Dogs in January as well.
