Wyoming Wins Thriller Over Colorado State, 60-58, Advances To Play Fresno State In Semifinals

The No. 3 Cowgirls (24-6) advance to Friday's semifinals with the victory and will take on No. 2 Fresno State (22-8), 72-55 winners over Boise State in earlier action. Tipoff for the semifinal tilt is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. PT on the Mountain West Network.
Tied at 58 in the closing seconds, Wyoming junior guard Chelan Landry scored on a drive to the goal to put the Cowgirls up 60-58. The Rams got off a shot before the final buzzer but it bounced off the side of the rim.
The Cowgirls trailed 49-35 in the second half but went on a 17-0 run to take a 52-49 lead. The two teams traded baskets down the stretch until Landry's final basket.
Sophomore forward Kayla Woodward led Wyoming in scoring with 17 points. Sophomore guard Kaitlyn Mileto scored 14 points and was 4-of-5 from three-point range, which equals the third-best three point shooting percentage in MW Championship history.
The Cowgirls pulled down 45 rebounds, which tied a MW Championship quarterfinal record and is fifth-best in MW Championship history.
Colorado State (11-19) tied the MW Championship record for fewest turnovers in a game with five. The Rams were led by Sam Martin's 14 points. The junior forward had six rebounds and five assists. LaDeyah Forte scored 12 points and Meghan Heimstra added 10 points.
