Falcons Fall to San Diego in Air Force Classic

USAFA, Colo. - In the final game of the Air Force Classic, the Falcons' women's basketball team dropped a 74-43 contest to San Diego in Clune Arena.
Senior Austyn Wilson (Dallas, Texas) was the lone Falcon to score in double figures, finishing with a career-high 10 points. Meanwhile, sophomore Simonne Potts (Tacoma, Wash.) added nine points and a career-high eight rebounds.
For the Toreros, tournament MVP Amy Kame registered a double-double, notching 17 points and 10 rebounds, while also adding seven assists and seven steals.
The Falcons (0-7) never led against the Toreros, who scored 16 points off turnovers in the first half to take a 37-18 lead at the break. San Diego continued to pull away in the second half, pushing the margin to 31 points with 6:45 remaining before earning the final 64-43 victory.
San Diego (5-1), which shot over 47 percent from the field, including 50 percent in the second half, held a 41-35 advantage on the boards. The Toreros also grabbed 22 steals, pressuring the Falcons into a season-high 29 turnovers.
Joining Kame on the All-Air Force Classic team were teammate Katelyn McDaniel, Kansas City's Eilise O'Connor and Boise State's Miquelle Askew and Lauren Lenhardt.
The Falcons are back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 4, when they travel to Grand Forks, N.D., to take on North Dakota in a non-conference match-up.
