Mountain West Announces Women's Basketball Player of the Week - January 7, 2013

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresno State guard Taylor Thompson earned Mountain West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for games played from Dec. 31, 2012-Jan. 6, 2013. It is her first MW weekly accolade.

Thompson, a junior from Cache, Okla., led Fresno State to a 77-68 road victory over CSU Bakersfield in its only game of the week. Thompson tallied a career-high 23 points and matched a career-best with eight assists in the game.

Thompson was 7-of-14 (.500) from the floor, including 2-of-3 (.667) from three-point range, and hit 7-of-8 (.875) from the free throw line. She also recorded six rebounds and five steals against the Roadrunners. It is the fifth game this season that Thompson has recorded five or more steals.
