Mountain West action continues this week with a key match-up on Wednesday night in Laramie when Fresno State (2-0) takes on Wyoming (1-1).
- Newcomer Fresno State and Boise State escape first week undefeated ... Fresno State (2-0) got off to a solid start in its first MW season with a road win against San Diego State (80-72) on Jan. 9 and a home win over New Mexico (69-65) on Jan. 12. The Bulldogs travel to Wyoming on Wednesday, Jan. 16 for another early MW test ... Boise State (1-0) edged Wyoming, 70-68, on Jan. 9 ... Colorado State travels to UNLV on Sunday, Jan. 20 for a televised game on CBS Sports Network (1 p.m. PT; DirecTV 613). Brent Stover and Tammy Blackburn will call the action from Cox Pavilion.
- Quick Hits ... Three Falcons recorded double-doubles as Air Force beat UNLV on Jan. 12, 81-69. Senior Katie Hilbig registered 14 points and a career-high 16 rebounds, senior Dymond James scored 14 points and grabbed a career-tying 15 rebounds and junior Cherea Medina tallied 13 points and a career-best 10 assists ... Boise State transfer Brandi Henton scored a career-high 21 points in the Jan. 9 70-68 win over Wyoming ... Colorado State holds a 37-11 lead in the series with Air Force, going into Wednesday night's match-up ... Fresno State extended its home winning streak to 18 on Jan. 12 with a 69-65 win over New Mexico. The streak ranks fifth in the nation ... Nevada won its Mountain West opener on Jan. 9, 67-54 over Air Force ... New Mexico returns to The Pit this week, the Lobos' first home game since Dec. 8 ... San Diego State senior Gabrielle Clark tied her career-high with 13 points against Colorado State on Jan. 13 ... UNLV sophomore Danielle Miller scored a career-high 21 points in the Jan. 12 loss at Air Force. She is the third Lady Rebel to post a 20+ point performance this season and has scored in double figures in nine straight games ... Wyoming is 8-0 when scoring 70 or more points this season. Senior Chaundra Sewell needs only nine points to reach 1,000 for her career, becoming the 20th Cowgirl to reach the mark.
- Three MW Teams rank in Top 50 in Attendance ... New Mexico (8-7) is back among the top 10 women's basketball programs in home court advantage, currently sitting at No. 8 with a 6,323 average through the first nine home games of the season. Wyoming (12-3) ranks 28th with a home attendance average of 3,376, while MW newcomer Fresno State (10-5) comes in at 47th with a 2,384 average.
