Fresno State and San Diego State continue to have a hold on the top two spots in the Mountain West standings at 5-1. Wyoming is in third place at 4-2. The Cowgirls have two key games this week, at fifth-place New Mexico on Jan. 30 and hosting Colorado State on Feb. 2 in the first round of the women's basketball Border War.

    • Seeing Triple-Double, Again ... San Diego State senior Chelsea Hopkins leads the nation with three triple-doubles this season. Hopkins recorded her second triple-double in three games on Jan. 23 with a career-high 25 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 10 assists against Nevada. Hopkins posted 22 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists against SMU on Dec. 28 before her 22 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists performance on Jan. 16 at UNLV. Hopkins is the only MW player to record multiple triple-doubles in the same season and holds the mark for most in a MW career (3).

    • Quick Hits ... Air Force junior Camille Thompson scored a career-high 15 points against Wyoming on Jan. 26. Thompson was 5-of-9 from three-point range, after knocking down just 2-of-18 in the Falcons' first 17 games of the season ... Boise State senior Lauren Lenhardt is currently ranked in the Top 15 on the Broncos' career lists for points and rebounds. Lenhardt has 1,179 points (8th) and 550 rebounds (15th). With 245 assists, junior Diana Lee is tied for 10th on the BSU career assists list ... Last week Colorado State sophomore Mandy Makeever started her first game on Jan. 23 since Dec. 8, 2011 vs. North Dakota ... Fresno State puts its 19-game home winning streak on the line Wednesday night against Air Force. The streak ranks fourth in the nation. The Bulldogs are 35-5 in the month of January since 2009 ... Nevada hosts UNLV on Jan. 30 in the first women's basketball round of the 2012-13 Govenor's Series ... New Mexico freshman Bryce Owens is second among MW rookies in scoring (8.1 ppg) and leads the group in assists (4.2 apg) and steals (1.8 spg) ... San Diego State senior Chelsea Hopkins has posted double-digit assists in six of her last nine outings. The Aztecs are holding opponents to a 34.8 field goal percentage and maintaining a +17.4 scoring margin during their current five-game win streak ... UNLV sophomore Alana Cesarz is out for the season after tearing her ACL against Wyoming on Jan. 23. The Lady Rebels are 4-0 against Nevada during the Kathy Olivier era and have won 11 of the last 12 against the Wolf Pack ... Wyoming is 11-0 when scoring 70 or more points this season. The Cowgirls scored 86 on Jan. 26 against Air Force, led by Colorado Springs native Kaitlyn Mileto's career-high 27 points.

    • Three MW Teams rank in Top 50 in Attendance ... New Mexico (10-8) is among the top 10 women's basketball programs in home court advantage, currently sitting at No. 8 with a 6,389 average. Wyoming (15-4) ranks 31st with a home attendance average of 3,354, while MW newcomer Fresno State (13-6) comes in at 48th with a 2,402 average.
