#AztecWBB Gears up for Saturday Clash vs. Air Force

Winners of five straight, the San Diego State women's basketball team looks to reclaim a share of first place in the Mountain West standings on Saturday when it entertains Air Force at Viejas Arena. Opening tip is slated for 2 p.m. PT. After having a mid-week bye, the Aztecs are a half-game back of Fresno State, which will have an open date of its own this weekend.
Saturday's game will also highlight National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Montezuma Mesa. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., the concourse in front of Viejas Arena will play host to a variety of games and activities in recognition of female athletic achievements and the importance of sports and fitness preparation for all girls and women.

-SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the eighth year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She led the Aztecs for eight seasons from 1989 to 1997, before returning in 2005. She has an overall head coaching record of 363-249 in 21 seasons, and she is 282-184 in her 16 campaigns at SDSU.
-Air Force Head Coach Andrea Williams: Williams (Edinboro, 1994) is in her third season at the Academy and fifth as a head coach. Her current record with the Falcons is 17-63, while her overall mark stands at 29-98, including a two-year stint at Waynesburg State (Pa.) from 1997-99.
-Series History: San Diego State has won five straight against Air Force and leads the all-time series 25-6. The Aztecs prevailed by a 68-58 count in the last meeting between the two teams in the opening round of the 2012 Mountain West tournament.
