New Mexico's Caroline Durbin and Wyoming's Chaundra Sewell Named to 2013 Capital One Academic All-District VII Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Two Mountain West women's basketball student-athletes were named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District® VII Team today. New Mexico senior Caroline Durbin was named to the team for the second season in a row, while Wyoming senior Chaundra Sewell was named for the first time. First team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first, second and third team All-America honorees will be selected in late February.
Durbin, a 2012 Capital One Academic All-American®, holds a 4.18 grade point average as a Business major with a concentration in Accounting and Finance. She is currently averaging 11.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting a conference-leading 44.3% from three-point range. The native of Austin, Texas, was a 2012 First Team All-Mountain West selection. Durbin is also a mainstay on the Mountain West All-Academic Team and the Mountain West Scholar Athlete list.
Sewell carries a 3.85 grade point average in Pre-pharmacy. She averages 14.6 points and an MW-leading 9.8 rebounds per game. The native of Broomfield, Colo., also leads the league in field goal percentage (51.5%), is fifth in blocked shots (1.3 per game) and sixth in free throw shooting (80.0%). Sewell was a Second Team All-Mountain West and MW All-Defensive Team pick in 2012, after earning MW honorable mention in 2011. She is a three-time MW All-Academic and MW Scholar-Athlete honoree.
