Lady Rebels On The Road, Face Rams Wednesday
Jan. 31, 2012
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -
Riding a four-game win streak, the UNLV women's basketball team finishes their first trip through the Mountain West schedule with a Wednesday night contest at Colorado State. The game will tip off at 6 pm (PT) in Fort Collins, Colo., at Moby Arena.
UNLV is looking to remain within a game of first-place San Diego State, as the Aztecs are 6-0 in league play, while the Lady Rebels are 5-1, which ties with the 2003-04 squad as the best MW start in team history. UNLV has never started out a MW season at 6-1.
The Lady Rebels are also looking to break a three-game losing streak in Fort Collins. UNLV’s last win on the Rams’ home court was on Feb. 9, 2008, a 76-68 victory.
A win would also be UNLV’s 18th on the season. The last time the Lady Rebels had that many victories in a season was in 2005-06, as that year’s team finished at 18-12. As of Jan. 29, the 17 victories were tied for the 18th most in the nation.
One factor that could be a difference on Wednesday is turnovers, as UNLV is third in the MW in turnover margin at +0.7, while the Rams are dead last with -3.7.
