Two-Game Homestand Begins Wednesday
Feb. 15, 2012
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -
Only five games remain in the Mountain West regular season for the Lady Rebels, which makes Wednesday's contest against TCU in the Cox Pavilion at 7 pm a big game for both teams. UNLV, tied with the Horned Frogs and Wyoming for third in the MW at 5-3, needs a win to stay in the top three and within reach of second-place Colorado State. A loss meanwhile could drop UNLV to fifth place.
Wednesday's game is also the first of two straight at home for UNLV this week. The Lady Rebels will end the season with three of five at home, giving them an advantage over Wyoming (three of final five on the road) and Colorado State (three of final four on the road).
One area UNLV will look to take advantage of is on the boards, as the Lady Rebels are second in the MW in rebound margin at +5.7, while TCU is eighth of eight teams with -4.5.
The Lady Rebels are looking for not only their first season sweep of the year, but its first ever against TCU after claiming a 72-57 win in Fort Worth on Jan. 18. That was only the third all-time win for UNLV against the Horned Frogs.
