FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State’s women’s basketball program joins the effort to increase breast cancer awareness Saturday in the “Play4Kay” game when the Rams face Air Force.

Ryun Williams’ team will be wearing pink uniforms, shoes and socks as part of the campaign.

Kay Yow was a former North Carolina State women’s coach, diagnosed with breast cancer in1987, and passed away just more than three years ago after a third fight with the disease.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund in partnership with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The V Foundation has helped raise more than $2 million to support women’s cancer research.

Williams and his student-athletes are encouraging Ram fans to join the fight to increase breast cancer awareness, and to wear pink to Saturday’s game in Moby Arena.

Colorado State is 7-15 in Williams’ first year in Fort Collins, and 3-6 through the first half of Mountain West competition. The Rams won their last home game, 59-50 over Nevada a week ago, and lost at San Diego State Wednesday, 60-44, before returning home to play host to Air Force.

Tipoff time Saturday is 2 p.m. in Moby Arena.
