Feb. 17, 2012

SAN DIEGO - Come out and celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day with the Aztec women's basketball team as it faces off against the Air Force Falcons on Saturday, Feb. 18, at Viejas Arena.

The event, which is being put on for the fifth consecutive year in partnership with the San Diego County Office of Education, will give fans a chance to meet and greet student-athletes from some of SDSU's 12 women's athletic programs and join them in celebrating the accomplishments of women sports.

The concourse outside Viejas Arena will open at 12:30 p.m. PT and includes special pregame activities, with tip-off following at 2 p.m. The SDSU women's basketball team will also be donning special pink uniforms for the second consecutive home outing to continue to raise awareness for breast cancer and Play 4Kay.

Saturday's game is Kids Free Day, where youth ages 3-14 get in for free with the purchase of a $6 general admission adult ticket. Reserve seats are also available for just $9 apiece. The Aztecs will also be on hand to sign free team posters after the game.

Individual game tickets may be purchased via or by visiting the Viejas Arena Box Office or the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium (window E). For more information, contact the Aztec Ticket Office at 619-283-7378.
