Play4Kay Game Saturday Against Wyoming
Feb. 22, 2013
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -
After a tough road swing, the UNLV women's basketball team is happy to play its next two contests at home, starting with Saturday’s matchup with Wyoming, set for 3 pm in the Cox Pavilion. The game is also part of the national Play4Kay initiative, the goal of which is to help raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research. All fans that wear pink to the contest will receive $2 admission (children 12 and under are free), while free T-shirts will be available for the first 500 fans. The Lady Rebels will be wearing special pink jerseys for Saturday's game, and several breast cancer survivors will be recognized prior to the start of the contest.
Saturday is the first of the final two home games of the regular season, and all four games to end the year are crucial for the Lady Rebels, who would most likely have to split the four to ensure themselves of a top-five seed in next month’s Mountain West Conference tournament. UNLV currently holds onto sole possession of fourth place at 6-6, but are just half a game ahead of Colorado State and New Mexico (5-6).
Saturday's contest will be streamed live on UNLVRebels.com, thanks to a partnership with UNLV-TV, a media unit of the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism & Media Studies. The UNLV radio broadcast for the game by Adam Candee and Dominique Harris can be heard on KSHP 1400 AM as well as off a link from UNLVRebels.com.
